This ideal development boat is also excellent for racing. Its stability enables almost anyone who has paddled war canoes, C-4 or dragon boats, to stay in the boat immediately - the only thing left to master is a j stroke. With this boat, many clubs and users will be able to make a quick transition from paddling on a dock or in team boats to paddle in what appears to be a racing, slim C-1. At its widest point, the VELA is only 55 cm wide i.e. 20 cm narrower than boats such as DELTA C-1, but far more stable. Since it is narrow, it allows paddlers to paddle closer to the central line of the boat, benefiting speed and stability. The VELA comes complete with a fixed floor platform.
