This innovative new kayak is designed for advanced and elite paddlers with inputs from a number of top paddlers and multi-sporters. It is designed to be the fastest multi-sport kayak in the world. The F1 was paddled by George Christison when winning the Coast to Coast 2004. The hull design was perfected using systems put in place for us by Richard Karn, ex Team NZ, and used in our very successful Opus and Swallow 2001 kayaks.
This radical kayak is fast with considerable secondary stability. The F1 has a maximum beam of 500 mm at the top of the 'wing' and a waterline max beam of 300 mm. It's lower volume and length will let it accelerate with ease, cutting wave trains and eliminating rocking. The F1, designed with Coast to Coast and the Waimakariri in mind, is ideal for those who have mastered the Opus, or paddlers searching for the utmost in speed/stability. Paddled with great success by George Christison, Richard Ussher and Ben Fouhy, to name few, to win Montys Revenge, Crazyman, Three Rivers Tri, Waimak Mega Race, Mt Cook Race, Christchurch AMP and came 1st and 2nd off the Waimak in the 2004 Coast to Coast to finally break the Gurney gauntlet on this classic race.
